Where are you from and what did you study?
I’m from China, Tianjin, My major is computer science and technology in University and during primary school I studied painting and drawing for a few years
What do you do, what job do you do now?
I’m cloud engineer in a IT consulting company
What inspired you to become a LEGO builder?
After following instructions to build some LEGO official sets, I got kind of repeating and boring feeling, which made me thinking what else can I do with all the pieces in my hand. I also found motivation from online building contest, so I participated in to keep challenging myself from now and then
Where do you get inspiration for your creations?
Video/PC Games, Movies, Illusions/Arts from other artists, I get inspiration from anything which meet my aesthetics
What is your favorite LEGO work that you have built so far?
Let me say the Dragon King in general. But every work has regret more or less to me, so my favorite built is always next one
What has been the most complex challenge you have faced as a LEGO builder?
All the challenges from each episode of Lego Master CN S2 have been deepest memory in my mind. However as individual LEGO builder, I met tons of challenges when I built Lost Temple, since it’s massive and complex architecture with sculpture, building, topography and plants mixed together
Do you have a favorite technique or a special method that you use in your constructions?
I like all the technique which is not simply putting bricks from bottom to top
What themes or subjects do you like to explore the most in your creations?
I always like to explore more new part which can be used in my creations, now I am specially focusing on Hero factory and Bionicle stuffs
What is the largest or most ambitious project you have ever made?
The most ambitious and largest project I have made is of course the final built on Lego Master CN S2, with my partner together, which requires us to build a within 28 hours. We finally completed it successfully, and won the title of Lego Master
What advice would you give to someone who wants to become an expert LEGO builder?
Learning technique from LEGO set or other great builders, get familiar with LEGO parts as much as possible, enhance aesthetic, etc… But most important to me, is getting start to build with first brick and overcoming the challenges along the way, it’s a fascinating process and you will enjoy it
