POINTED ARCH, TUTORIAL
Building a Medieval Pointed Arch in LEGO
A while ago, a friend asked me to recreate the stone archway at the entrance of a medieval tower in his hometown.
The real arch was built with stones set flush against the wall, not sticking out. Because of this, I couldn’t just use sideways tiles to mimic the effect.
After some experimenting, I found a neat solution: alternating pieces attached with plate-and-clip connections. This technique gave the impression of rough, ancient stone blocks while keeping the surface flat.
The result is a pointed Gothic arch that stays faithful to the original structure — simple to build, but very effective if you want to add authentic medieval details to your LEGO creations.
Finally, here is the finished result, achieved thanks to my technique: the tower of Castelfranco di Sopra, carefully recreated with attention to detail, simple but solid, clearly showing the effectiveness of the work.
